In 1869, Jasper Cropsey designed Aladdin, his first home and studio in Warwick, New York. The picturesque home was a combination of multiple architectural styles including Italian, French, Gothic, and Renaissance. Financial troubles forced Cropsey to sell Aladdin in 1885, and he moved to Ever Rest, in Hastings-on-Hudson, where he would spend the remainder of his life.
